Earlier today Super Ben Foster, one of the greats announced his retirement. The 40 year old goalkeeper stated that "my performances this season haven't reached the level I demand for myself, and I feel that now is the time to retire".
It is safe to say that Wrexham might not be in the football league right now if it wasn't for Ben Foster stepping up and coming in to help the club at the end of last season. Thank you for everything you have done for the club and the fans, creating memories that will last a lifetime. Not one single Wrexham fan will forget the 96 minute goal save against Notts County. That moment will live on forever.
Foster respectfully announces his retirement, early in the month, giving Wrexham time to find a new goalie before the transfer window closes (if they choose to). He also gives up his salary, freeing up funds that the club could use towards another goalie.
Now we need to look to the future. Does Mark Howard step in and take the reins? What about one of these young new goalies that we signed? Does wrexhamUSA's the remaining time of the transfer window to sign a new goalie? Only time will tell.
